1. Three Heroes Swear Brotherhood In The Peach Garden
In the Late eastern Han dynasty with riots everywhere, the court issued a proclamation
for repression. Liu Bei, a shoemaker, met two people who were concerned about future
of the country while watching the proclamation. One red-faced man is called Guan
Yu and the other pork seller is named Zhang Fei. With a common dream, they became
friends soon and swore to become brothers forever in a peach garden, which started
the legend of the Three Kingdom.
2. Three Mouses Fighting Against a Lion
The three brothers of Shu came across a famous officer, Lu Bu at barrier of HuLao.
Rash Zhang Fei rushed out first and the two drew after more than 50 bouts. Then
Guan Yu rode out impatiently with his weapon blue-dragon. Soon Liu Bei joined into
this fierce fight. However, Lu Bu held on over hundreds of rounds against three
heroes and finally succeeded to run away with his Crescent Halberd under siege,
which proves how invincible Lu Bu was.
3. Force five passes and slay six generals.
Guan Yu was caught by Cao Cao because of the failure in the battle of Xu Zhou. Cao
Cao valued his talent and persuaded him to surrender temporarily. However, Guan
Yu was thinking of his brothers all the time and left kingdom of Wu as soon as heard
Liu Bei's whereabouts. On the way, he killed 6 brave generals of Wei who dared to
stop him at 5 passages and finally met with Liu Bei without any delay.
4. Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage
Although Guan Yu and Zhang Fei was very brave, Liu Bei was always plagued by the
failure because of no military counsellor. So he decided to invite a sage named
ZhuGe Liang as soon as he heard the recommendation of this wise man . In the first
two visits, they couldn't even meet him at that thatched cottage in Nan Yang. However,
Liu Bei determined to pay a third visits without any complaint. Finally, Zhuge Liang
was moved and accepted the invitation. He made a famous analysis of current situation
in that dynasty and help the three brothers to achieve the fame.
5. Borrowed Arrows with Thatched Boats
While army of Wu and Shu are confronting Wei at Red Cliff, Zhou Yu is jealous of
Zhuge Liang's talent and required him to make 100,000 arrows in 10 days. Marvelously,
Zhuge Liang said with a smile: 3 days is enough. On the two days, Zhuge Liang did
nothing. However, at midnight of the third day, he lent some boats full of straw
men standing around and sailed towards Wei’s military camp. Because of foggy night,
Cao Cao could distinguish nothing but many opponents thus he ordered soldiers to
shoot arrows fiercely. As a result, Zhuge Liang went back with all boats full of
arrows.
6. The War of the Red Cliff
Hearing Cao Cao had was coming with millions of army, Liu Bei's military counsellor
Zhuge Liang turned to Kingdom of Wu for support. Hence Zhou Yu, the counsellor of
Wu, brought army to meet army of Wei at Red Cliff. He ordered general Huang Gai
to pretended to surrender to Cao Cao with chained ships full of combustible goods.
HuangGai suggested to connected Cao Cao's warships to make them balanced and fired
his ships secretly then. All warships get burned at once and Cao Cao had to escaped
from Hua Rong road. Kingdom of Wei suffered a crushing defeat at end.
7. The Stratagem of the Empty City
Zhuge Liang, the millitary counsellor of Shu, failed in attacking Wei and had to
withdraw back to city of Xi with army of Wei running after. Unexpectedly, Zhuge
Liang hid the last 2,500 soldiers, opened gate of the city and played musical instrument
on the gate tower alone. When Sima Yi's army reached the city, he doubted that there
may have some trap and finally dare not enter it. Thus Zhuge Liang had a narrow
escape with his amazing intelligence.
